Cessna 172

SMAT’s Cessna 172s are 4-place, 180 horsepower, basic trainers equipped for visual and instrument flying.

  • Dual Garmin G5s
  • Garmin GNS 430 or 530
  • L3 Lynx NGT-9000
  • EDM engine monitor

Citabria Taildragger

SMAT’s Bellanca 7ECA (Citabria) is a great airplane for initial tailwheel training.  It is equipped with a 115 horsepower engine. and is known for its easy handling characteristics and maneuverability.  

Flight Simulator

SMAT offers two Precision Flight Controls training devices, one of which is equipped with a visual display.  These are primarily used for procedural training in the instrument rating course, but can also be used for general IFR proficiency and review.

Discovery Flight – $150

Cessna 172 Skyhawk – $159/hr wet

Citabria – $118/hr wet

Piper Arrow (PA28R-201) – $200/hr wet

Flight Simulator – $50/hr
